Setting Up Peppol InvoiceNow with Xero in Singapore

What to prepare, what the setup process looks like, and what usually trips businesses up when connecting Xero to Peppol.

If your business runs on Xero, you are in a reasonably good position for InvoiceNow. Xero e invoicing support for Peppol is one of the more established integrations among Singapore accounting platforms, but supported and set up correctly are two different things.

Does Xero Support Peppol E-Invoicing?

Xero peppol connectivity works through a Peppol Access Point, the same way it does for any other accounting platform. Xero itself does not replace the need for that connection, it needs to be linked to one so your invoices can actually travel across the Peppol network to your customers, and vice versa for invoices coming in.

Xero tends to be the platform of choice for businesses that want a clean, modern interface and are comfortable managing their own books without heavy accountant involvement.

Common Issues When Connecting Xero to InvoiceNow

None of these are unusual, they are just the kind of thing that is much easier to catch during testing than after go-live.

Your Mandate Window Still Applies

New voluntary GST registrants must adopt InvoiceNow from 1 April 2026. Existing GST-registered businesses phase in between April 2028 and April 2031, based on turnover. Government grants of S$1,000 to S$5,000 are available to help with onboarding costs, including connecting Xero.

If you already trust Xero to run your books, there is no reason InvoiceNow should change that. The goal is to connect it to Peppol properly, once, and move on.
